ERP Simulation Game : University registration for the academic year 2007-2008

If you are interested in using the simulation game during the academic year 2007-2008, please fill out the following web form : http://www.formassembly.com/forms/44429 (this is a free webform service). Your university needs to be part of the SAP University Alliance to use the ERP Simulation Game. Our assistant Nicolas Bergeron will contact you during the month of August based on the information that you will be providing in this form.

Participant & Faculty guides : To be released in August

We are currently doing the professional editing of the book. It will be ready end of August. The book will be available in electronic format on the ERPsim website. The students will have access to this book and the rest of the ERPsim material (flash tutorials and videos) after registering for the simulation game. More information will be provided to you about this registration and pricing at the end of August.

To get a draft version of this book, please email nicolas.3.bergeron@hec.ca. You must be part of the SAP University Alliance and have previously attended a training on ERPsim to receive this electronic version of the book.

Also, we are preparing a new version of the faculty guide explaining the new feature in the software. This document will be available mid-august.

ERPsim 2.6 : Webcast on August 24th

We will be hosting a webcast on Friday August 24th at 13h00 (eastern time). During this webcast, we will explain the latest modifications to ERPsim 2.6. This webcast will be particularly interesting for those of you who already attended one of our training and would like to get up to date with the simulation game. The webcast will last 2 hours. New functionalities expected in version 2.6

We are working on the following functionalities for the next version of ERPsim that we expect to release on June 18th during the training in Montreal for the SAP University Alliance :
  • The automation of production confirmation by ERPsim allows to fix a maximum production capacity for each team
  • The automation of the goods receipts, invoice receipts and invoice payments allows the creation of a time lag between ordering and receiving the raw material. Info-records are now updated automatically.
  • It is now possible to create a lag between the invoicing and the payment by the retailers.
  • The financial statement is now more realistic: we have included fixed assets, SG&A and direct labor cost.

1st International HEC Montréal ERP Simulation Game : June 20th 2007

The academic year is not yet over, but we are planning the 1st International HEC Montréal ERP Simulation Game. We would like to organize this game on Wednesday June 20th in the evening (from 6pm to 10pm eastern). We are looking for 8 teams from different universities that would like to participate in the game. Teams would have up to 5 students and a coach (faculty). The exact rules of the game will be disclosed later next week. We will be using version 2.5 of the game with fixed production capacity. The storyline will be developed by an independent faculty whose university will not be involved in the game. We will manage to have a prize for the winning team. The game will be remotely played by the participants on the HEC server, but since the SAP training at HEC Montréal will be taking place during that week, we will have a crowd of faculty members looking at the live results from the game. It would be interesting to have webcams in each location. We are planning to play 4 quarters, so the game should last about 4 hours. We are looking forward to hear from you. Please confirm rapidly your intention to register a team in this competition.

Successful trial for the production execution module

The production execution module was successfully tried at HEC Montréal and École Polytechnique in March and April. The next release of ERPsim will include this new functionality.

Faculty training for ERPsim 2.5

A faculty training on ERPsim will be offered at HEC Montréal from June 18th to June 21st. This training is available only to faculty involved in the SAP University Alliance. First beta trial in India


We are proud to announce that the ERP Simulation was first played outside North America at the XLRI Jamshedpur School of Management in India. Prof Sanjay Kumar have successfully used the game with his students.

Participant's Guide to be published in May 2007

The participant's guide will be published in May 2007. Further indications will be provided on this blog about the ordering process. The participant's guide will include a serial number that will allow the participants to log on the ERPsim server.

ERPsim team lauches a new discussion group

A new discussion group has been created for the support and the development of the ERPsim software. From now on, we would appreciate if your would post your questions and comments on the following forum : http://groups.google.com/group/erpsim. This forum is on invitation only and will be restricted to faculty using the simulation game.

ERPsim team wins the 2007 Majdi Najm Outstanding Service Award

Pierre-Majorique Léger, Jacques Robert and Gilbert Babin, professors in the Department of Information Technologies, as well as their collaborator Robert Pellerin, professor at the École Polytechnique de Montréal, have won the 2007 Majdi Najm Outstanding Service Award from the SAP University Alliances Program. The award rewards the creation and development of the HEC Montréal ERP Simulation Game. They received this award on March 4th at the Annual Curriculum Congress of the SAP University Alliance in Vancouver.

ERPsim v 2.5 to be released soon

Gilbert Babin demontrated today ERPsim v 2.5 at the annual SAP Curriculum congress in Vancouver. The application has been revamped with a complete new look and feel. This new version should be release soon.
